The WTS needs to quit worrying about how and who to df and get with helping people.
Imagine that, a Christian organization that actually helps people, instead of worrying about fighting a war with a bunch of desert dwellers, or banning marriages that really have no effect on anyone.

I never became a witness. I only studied with them for about two years before I left. Anyway, as many of you know, they start new recruits off with the brochure "What Does God Require of Us?" The brochure essentially outlines their core beliefs, as well as dos and don'ts.
However, I already abstained from several of their donts, like smoking and gambling, yet the guy made me go through the lesson anyway. Did this annoy anybody else? Did they make you study lessons you already knew? What's the point of telling me not to smoke when I made up my mind a long time ago that I never would? It's like my beliefs aren't good enough. It's like I would do it anyway unless they told me not to.
It's too bad I didn't pick up on that red flag right away, or I could've saved myself some trouble.

Yet another negative side effect from JWs blowing off public education. If they would have studied the six traits of writing, they would know how to at least properly write an article without looking silly.

The Witnesses model themselves after the worst Bible stories. The good Bible stories are never studied by them unless it's with a downside spin attached.
What do you consider to be the worst Bible stories? What do you consider to be good Bible stories? Please elaborate.
How about my most likely scenario, David was King. He made the rules, pretty much no way the High Priest was going to drag him outside and stone him. And the child, I would imagine a pretty bad infant mortality rate for that area and time. Not uncommon for a child, newborn, to pass away.Excellent critical thinking.

which jw doctrines, collective personality traits and general history do you find to be the most destructive or disagreeable?
i personally found the doctrine of the other sheep which makes the christ inaccesible to most jws, the devilishly complicated moral code, and the hideously totalitarian behaviour of their leadership to be the worst things on a long list that i've prepared regarding what's unacceptable to me in that society.
i remember when i was arguing with the elders about the fds and their claim to total spiritual supremacy and they were telling me that the idea of democracy departs completely from their way of thinking, here they have a theocracy and that even "talking about the right things at the wrong time" is basically a crime in other words sit and wait for the fds to reveal it at the so called right time, and i should accept things as they are and not as i want them to be otherwise i get thrown out.
Their elitist attitude that says you shouldn't associate with non witnesses.
the jws don't believe hell, as in the place where evil people are tortured for eternity, exists.
they reason that a loving god would not send his own creation to be tormented for eternity.. yet on the flipside, the jws preach that in 1914 (yeah, you all know this arguement.
) there was a big war in heaven, and satan and all his creatures were cast down to earth.
Hmmm, if you were to give a JW that information, I bet they would receive "new light" and say that Jehovah God never did send Satan to Earth. After all, how could a loving God do such a thing?
